My Self-Care Sunday Routine That Doesn’t Cost a Dime

There’s something sacred about Sundays in my world.
As a woman who pours into everyone all week long, I’ve learned that Sundays are my time — a day to refuel, reset, and reconnect with myself. And the best part? My self-care routine doesn’t cost a dime.
I usually start with one of my favorite rituals: a hot Epsom salt bath. Not only does it soothe my joints (because let’s be real, the body be bodyin’ after 40), but I also use it as a spiritual cleanse. I let the water carry away the week’s energy, and I call my own back to me.
Phone? On DND.
Plans? Kept to a minimum.
Energy? Mine to protect.
I wake up without an alarm, on my time. I cook something I actually enjoy — no rush, no pressure — just a meal that feels like love on a plate. Sometimes I’ll turn on a Deepak Chopra meditation track, sit in silence, and just breathe. Other times, I’ll escape into a binge-worthy show and lose myself in someone else’s story for a while.
And if I choose to work (because let’s be honest, ideas don’t clock out), I give myself a strict time limit. The rest of the day is mine to be, not to do.
Now that the weather’s warming up, my dogs and I will be hitting the walking trail again. Fresh air, sunshine, and some bonding time with them fills my soul in a way no facial ever could. (Though don’t get me wrong, I love those too!) Then there’s my favorite form of self-care - gardening. There’s something deeply healing about planting seeds and watching them grow, both in the soil and in myself.
I’ve learned that self-care isn’t always about spending money. Sometimes, it’s about reclaiming your peace, honoring your body, and choosing yourself, unapologetically.
Final Thought:Your Sunday is not just another day on the calendar — it’s your personal reset button. You deserve softness, stillness, and space to bloom. Make room for that.
How do you protect your peace and pour back into yourself?
